In this session, the focus will be on English learner students and their language acquisition process. We will review example student data from WIDA English language proficiency assessment reports, and breakdown their components and how to interpret the results. Next, we will discuss how these results can be utilized in the evaluation process for special education. Additionally, topics such as general EL data growth trends and practices for referral and evaluation of EL students will be highlighted to deepen these discussions.
