The Triad Model of School-Based Policing

School Resource Officers is not synonymous with “any police officer who works in a school.” This session will explore the goals of a healthy School Resource Officer program based on the “triad model” of school-based policing. We will discuss why careful selection and specific training is the foundation of an effective program and how the non-law enforcement functions of a School Resource Officer become the primary focus. Good SROs work collaboratively with administrators, counselors, school psychologists and social workers to create a comprehensive school safety structure. Let’s discuss how we can build these programs together!
